Arvind Kejriwal slams PM Modi, Jung, calls ‘complete jungle raj’ in Delhi

The central government must disband its SIT and let the Delhi government form its own SIT to ensure justice to victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday.

“Complete jungle raj in Del. LG/Modiji failed miserably. What have they done to control deteriorating law and order?”

“This is 2 years of Modi raj”, he said. In another tweet, the chief minister said, “LG sahib/ Modi ji, pl do something”. As part of his campaign for full statehood for Delhi, the Kejriwal government has been demanding control over the Delhi Police and greater accountability of men of khaki towards the elected government – an issue which the Centre claims can not be settled due to lack of consensus among all stakeholders.

Power Minister Satyendar Jain said solar power has the potential of lowering the state’s expenditure on energy through “peak shaving, strengthening its energy security, and reducing its reliance on unsustainable fossil fuels”.

Delhi Police reports to the central government in the capital, not to the city government headed by Kejriwal. “Right now, the Delhi police is a law unto itself”.

Metropolitan Magistrate Harvinder Singh granted the relief to Mr Kejriwal after his counsel moved an exemption plea on his behalf, submitting that the chief minister would not be able to attend the proceedings as he was engaged in some government meetings.

Kejriwal said: “Making Delhi a solar city is one of our 70 point agenda points”. The bodies have been identified as Shabnam (9), Mehrunissa (19) and their mother Saira (50). Crime against women rise in Delhi.

The renewed push by the AAP government to control Delhi Police comes close to the public debate initiated by Kejriwal last month on giving Delhi full statehood. Delhi government has also asked the land owning agencies and greening agencies like that of DDA, PWD, MCD, the municipal corporations, irrigation and flood control departments to carry out a tree census in their jurisdiction.
