As Carolina hogs attention, other NFC contenders lurking
Week 15 of the 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season will continue today, Sunday, when 26 teams including the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, and the Denver Broncos go to action as the playoff approaches.

Denver still relies on temporary starting quarterback Brock Osweiler who is playing great replacing the recovering franchise passer Peyton Manning. On the ground, David Johnson rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns in 29 attempts while Kerwynn Williams added 34 yards in six carries.
Green Bay can clinch the North in Week 16 with a win over the Cardinals along with a Vikings loss or tie against the Giants.
The Cardinals, a four-point favorite, will be looking to defend their home field when Green Bay visits.
Sunday’s total is set at 50 points.
At 6-8 with games remaining against AFC West rivals San Diego and Kansas City left on their schedule, the Raiders won’t get their first winning season since 2002. Transitioning to the Arizona defense, there are some factors that could impact the outcome. The Packers are just 2-9 SU and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog. Arizona has 18 intereceptions o the year, many coming with opposing quarterbacks under duress from the likes of Calais Campbell and Dwight Freeney. It brings to mind the 2012 campaign, where they beat Washington in round one (with Robert Griffin III tearing his ACL on the miserable turf and never really being the same since) and then led very late against the top-seeded opponent from the NFC South, only then it was the Falcons.
They clinched a playoff spot on Sunday, but the Packers (10-4) are a shadow of the team that came within seconds of last year’s Super Bowl. Malcolm Floyd is a big target, J.J. Henry can just fly and Josh Brown would be a number one receiver on most teams as he’ll go over 1000 yards on the season. They haven’t had a day of both 250-plus yards passing and 100-plus rushing since September 28.
Now the defense has a chance to prove itself again. They’re allowing only 198.6 passing YPG over their last five matchups.
A win over the Giants on Sunday night will assure them of that opportunity, but a New Year’s resolution to start winning games in Green Bay would be a smart next step.
Doug Baldwin, with 10 touchdowns in his past four games, has shot past Steve Largent in team record books.
Arizona is 12-2 SU in its last 14 games at home. The question is: Will the game be in Green Bay or Minneapolis? He is a half-sack shy of ninth 10-sack season….
Another close game, but as luck would have it, Aaron Rodgers outgunned Tarvaris Jackson. After picking the Packers to win their first 14 games, this week she’s going against that trend, taking Arizona.
It has been a handsome season if the love parity, with so many teams in the postseason race right until the last few weeks.

“I don’t think it’s a distraction”, McCarthy said of Christmas falling two days before the Packers’ big game in Arizona.
