Bernie Sanders won the Democratic primary in Oklahoma on Tuesday, giving him a victory in a region of the country that at first blush didn’t look like the friendliest territory for the Brooklyn-born senator from Vermont.

Clinton starts Tuesday with 546 delegates, including super delegates – the party leaders and members of Congress who can support any candidate.

Rain greeted Arkansas voters as polls opened in the state for the primary election for president and various state and local races. Sanders won in Colorado, Minnesota, Oklahoma and his home state, Vermont. “Clinton, this is one of them”, Sanders said, questioning the amount of money being poured into the election by wealthy, prominent supporters, specifically naming the Koch brothers.

Clinton visited Birmingham on Saturday in a last-minute effort to earn more votes.

“Including the way we are financing this campaign which is unprecedented will take hold on the delegates and influence them and we think if we do it right, we’ve got a real good shot to win the nomination”, said Devine.

Clinton backers also cited her experience and potential to beat the Republican nominee in November.

About 7 in 10 Republican voters believe that Muslims who are not USA citizens should not be allowed to enter the country.

30 delegates to the National Democratic Convention are up for grabs. Devine and campaign manager Jeff Weaver say they almost drew a royal flush.

Hillary Clinton has agreed to appear at a town hall-style telecast airing Monday on Fox News Channel.

“The stakes keep getting higher, ” Clinton said in Detroit, moments after the Louisiana race was called for her. “Instead of building walls, we’re going to be knocking down barriers”. Democrats also have a contest in American Samoa and for Democrats Abroad. For the Democrats, it is expected that Mr Sanders’ rival, Hillary Clinton, will sweep the votes.

The Super Tuesday contests were well suited to Mrs Clinton’s strengths: Her popularity with minority voters, her political kinship with Southern Democrats from her two decades in Arkansas, and her success in delegate-rich Texas in 2008. He marched out at Castleton University in Vermont to “Seven Nation Army” by the White Stripes, but his message downplayed the roll of the presidency.
