CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton raised about $26 million in April for her primary race against Bernie Sanders, her campaign said, as her rival’s fundraising juggernaut slowed.

A new Washington Post story by Matea Gold and Anu Narayanswamy calculates that Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign had, by the end of March, spent almost $166 million on his presidential bid.

In a press conference to mark the one-year anniversary of an insurgent campaign that few ever imagined, he also revealed plans for a new series of mega-rallies in California and renewed calls on the party’s handpicked superdelegates to change their allegiances before this summer’s national convention. Clinton’s campaign has not yet released April fundraising numbers.

“On policy issues, the divide between Sanders and Clinton is nearly infinitesimal, compared to the wide gulf between Clinton and Donald Trump or Ted Cruz”, said Levinson, whose focuses include election law.

Clinton holds a substantial lead among delegates and is 91 percent of the way to clinching the nomination when including superdelegates, the Democratic elected officials and leaders who can support the candidate of their choice. The Sanders campaign announced last week that it was slashing its staff to about a third of its size from a month ago, with most primaries in the rear view mirror and prospects for a general election campaign for Sanders evaporating.

“That is admittedly, and I do not deny it for a second, a tough road to climb, but it is not an impossible road to climb and we intend to fight for every vote in front of us and every delegate remaining”, Sanders told reporters.

Clinton’s campaign said she has $30 million in the bank heading into May.

Clinton has now raised $213.5 million in primary funds for the campaign and more than $46 million for national and state Democratic parties. The campaign says last month’s total far outpaces his average of $17 million raised per month. The Sanders campaign did not report how much cash it has on hand. He said Sanders was “the candidate with the best chance of winning in November”. This includes the preparation of derivative works of, or the incorporation of such content intoother works.
