As Trump rises in battleground states, Clinton moves to block his path

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Dinner at the Washington Convention center, in Washington, Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, after receiving a Phoenix award.

But he also made the surprising charge – refuted by fact-checkers – that it was Clinton who originated the “birther” theories about Obama. That operating style did not stop the billionaire developer from vanquishing 16 Republican challengers and capturing the GOP nomination.

Hillary Clinton remains the top choice for voters in the presidential race, rebounding from her brief health scare at a 9/11 ceremony a week ago.

The race between Trump and Clinton, the Democrat nominee, has tightened in recent weeks, after a series of Trump missteps in August resulted in a drop in polls numbers that some political analysts suggested were insurmountable.

North Carolina is – for the Clinton campaign – a nice little bonus if they get it.

“Pennsylvania has been the most likely tipping-point state since midsummer”, Economist David Rothschild told The New York Times.

After scripted well wishes for her recovery, he returned to questioning her stamina as she prepared to resume campaigning last week. The first is that Trump’s campaign handlers are – for the most part – doing a much better job of keeping him from saying what he actually thinks. “I don’t think so”.

Trump on Friday told a crowd in Miami that since Clinton is for gun control, her Secret Service detail should disarm and, “let’s see what happens to her”. Only when she was captured on video struggling to get into her vehicle did they report the pneumonia diagnosis.Since then, Clinton has released more information about her overall health, including a letter from her doctor that includes some details but falls short of releasing medical records many would like to see.The health of the candidates is a legitimate issue in any presidential campaign, especially one in which the major-party contenders will be 70 (Donald Trump) and 68 (Clinton) on Election Day.

“No, Jake. It wasn’t like he was talking about it on a regular basis”.

Trump says he’ll “stand with the Cuban people in their fight against communist oppression”. “I mean, I have my own theory on Obama”. Host John King hyped Donald Trump’s announcement that he believes Obama was born in the United States, “As flip-flops going you can score this one as off the charts”.
