“I’ve been working hard for the last 3-4 years, I was looking forward to making a comeback, and my family, friends, it’s difficult for me to pinpoint one thing that I’m grateful to, but definitely, my main motive was to keep working hard”.
The hosts, however, are not taking Bangladesh, their next opponent, lightly and gearing up for showcasing another allround performance, this time at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Nehra added: “We are very confident”. The kind of cricket we are playing in the last two to three months, we are all happy and satisfied. “We have to play to our potential if we have to beat them”, Nehra said at a press conference here.
“The way they have progressed is incredible”.
“With the firepower we have, if we deliver we’ll definitely win the game”.
“I am enjoying it. My job is very important; to pass my experience which I gathered in the last 16-17 years to Bumrah, Shami and Bhuvneshwar”.
“So I will try to provide as much help as I can”, said Nehra.
“In this format, everybody knows from game one that more or less every game is a knockout game”, said Nehra. “In Nagpur and Kolkata, slow bowlers came into play and the match between England and South Africa saw sea of runs”.
Nehra also lavished praise on Bangladesh’s fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, who produced high-quality display during his side’s three-wicket defeat at the hands of Australia on Monday. They have so many new good cricketers coming up and they have been part of the IPL.
“I am not somebody who is working hard to play just domestic cricket or IPL. He is very good prospect for ODI and T20, and the good thing is he plays for my IPL team”.

The qualifiers are also compromised by the absence of frontline bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny, both banned for illegal actions. “We are not thinking too far ahead”, he said.
