A group calling themselves Impact Team is claiming they are behind the data leak.

A variation of this same theme allegedly came from a Bedouin Arab lawmaker in Israel named Talab Abu Arar, whose parliamentary e-mail address was found amongst the Ashley Madison data dump.

The data included credit card details, email accounts and home addresses. Adultery can be a criminal offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Other employees who are subject to morality clauses in their employment contracts may face trouble.

And while Social Security numbers weren’t involved Ashley Madison hack, people should be especially wary of using them as a backup password to access online information, given the potentially disastrous consequences that could result if they’re intercepted, he says.

Security experts have warned of blackmail, and there have already been some attempts.

The company, too, may have some financial troubles ahead. According to the lawyers behind the class action suit, the legal action will not include any action against the Impact Team hackers.
