Ashley Madison wants you to find ‘your moment,’ not ‘have an affair’

According to Ashley Madison, a dating site that made its name by facilitating affairs, there’s no such thing as “having an affair”.

“It was a limiting label that’s out-dated and doesn’t speak to the wide variety of connections people find on Ashley Madison”, CEO Rob Segal said in a statement.

The new ads feature three sets of white, presumably heterosexual men and women gazing longingly at each other in a hotel lobby, on a subway, and in a restaurant.

So, welcome back, Ashley Madison.and welcome to “dating” in the 21st century.

The clips are backed by United Kingdom folk artist Tom Rosenthal’s songs, with tunes and cinematics that are usually reserved for wedding videos and romantic films.

In this June 10, 2015 photo, Ashley Madison’s Korean web site is shown on a computer screen in Seoul, South Korea. And on July 18, there will also be a new global digital campaign and series of television advertisements, slated to air in the USA, U.K., Australia, and Canada.

Good news for folks looking for a fling on the side.

Since the scandal, the website’s parent company Avid Life Media has renamed itself “Ruby”, and is ironically hoping to rebuild the trust of its users, in a move some observe is similar to that of a cheating lover who has been busted.

The site’s new direction is an ongoing makeover to transform how people see adultery: from violating one of the Ten Commandments to a true chance at romance. “Ashley Madison welcomes open-minded and adventurous people from every walk of life”.
