Ashutosh Targets Modi Over His Silence on Dadri Incident
BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj today stoked a fresh controversy over the Dadri lynching case, saying Hindus consider cow as their mother and used the analogy of a terrorist who attacks the country and gets killed in the process. “A lot of these issues can be sorted out by proper dialogue between representatives of various communities and we plan to set up a body to facilitate this which will help maintain communal harmony”, the official said.

Citing the lynching of a Muslim man following rumours that he ate beef in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri area, Khan said he was disturbed by a series of incidents against minorities and would urge the United Nations to take up the matter with the Indian government.
Reacting on the same, Congress leader PL Punia said that BJP is trying to communalise the issue and that Azam Khan is supporting the party. He has faith in Pakistan’s political force. “He calls Bharat Mata “witch”.
On October 1, the home ministry had sought a report on the Dadri incident from the Uttar Pradesh government and advised it to ensure that such incidents do not recur. “When two girls were raped and murdered in Unnao, he gave no compensation to the family“, he said.
And in New York, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told NDTV that such incidents affect the country’s image and “amount to policy diversions”.
There have been many incidents in the state which would not have spiralled into big issues if the administration had intervened at the right time, the BJP leader said. We have to rise above these incidents because they certainly don’t bring a good name as far as the country is concerned. Already, the RJD and SP is doing the job of polarising the electorate, Bihar next week, Uttar Pradesh next year, in a manner that the BJP’s fringe can’t.
