Assad forces retake key Aleppo district from rebels, says monitor
Although the chemical attack has not been verified by independent monitors, the respiratory problems reported by activists and residents on the ground indicate the use of chlorine gas, which is banned by worldwide conventions. Medical personnel said the attack sickened more than 120 people, including 10 women and 37 children.

A statement from the al-Quds hospital, which received 46 of the patients, said all were suffering from breathing difficulties and “a strong smell of chlorine emanated from their clothes”. Last month, there were at least two reports of suspected chlorine attacks in Aleppo also, while the Syrian government also blamed the opposition for using the gas.
Attack comes soon after United Nations report confirmed regime already used chemicals twice before.
The Civil Defence said on its Facebook page that 80 people had suffocated.
The proposal would require Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down after six months.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Wednesday that one person had died as a result of the attack that caused dozens of cases of suffocation.
The Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets, says two rescuers died on Tuesday in Idlib province and two others in Aleppo province in what were presumed to have been Russian or government airstrikes.

As global concern has mounted, the United Nations has renewed a call for weekly 48-hour humanitarian ceasefires to allow aid into the city, but efforts by Russian Federation and the United States to agree terms for a truce are dragging.
Erdogan also repeated calls for a safe-zone to be established between the Syrian towns of Azaz and Jarablus in Aleppo province, to protect civilians.

Along the Syria-Turkey border, Turkish tanks were hit by rockets on Wednesday. It expanded its operation into nearby al-Rai over the weekend.
