Assam CM Tarun Gogoi
Earlier, the speaker of the state assembly Pranab Gogoi had suspended 15 BJP MLA’s including six Congress MLA’s who recently joined the saffron party, but yet not resigned from Congress for their anti constitutional demand in the winter session of the state assembly started from Monday.

After the Question Hour, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rockybul Hussain demanded action against the nine Congress MLAs, who have made a decision to support BJP but not formally resigned from the Congress.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the MLAs just want to create some sort of disturbance in the assembly.
When the Speaker refused to allow the discussion citing rules and procedures, the agitated BJP members rushed to the Well of the House, shouting slogans and insisting vociferously that the discussion be allowed. The speaker reserved his ruling on the disqualification of the Congress defectors, but said all the BJP members and Congress MLAs protesting under the BJP’s banner are suspended from the house for the entire session.
Justifying his stand, the Speaker told The Telegraph that he wanted to nip the problem in the bud or, going by the way the BJP MLAs were acting, they would have continued to disrupt proceedings. BJP MLA Jadav Deka highlighted the attack on Hindi-speaking people in Dibrugarh district and the growing activities of Islamist radicals.
Reacting to the suspension of the party MLAs, BJP leader Syed Shahnawaj Hussain said that the BJP would form the next government in Assam by overthrowing the Congress Government. “Let the House discuss the issue today itself”, Deka said.
“The law and order situation is deteriorating day by day”.
The BJP members totalling 12 including seven who had recently defected from the Congress to the BJP were suspended for the rest of the session.
Chaos continued in Assam assembly in the second day of the winter session, as twelve of the BJP MLAs of the state staged a massive protest outside the assembly gate and later police detained all of them.

Congress has sought termination of the membership of the nine rebel MLAs. “I request you to take action against them accordingly”, he told the Speaker. Later, outside the house, the speaker said, “There will be no review of my ruling”.
