Aston Villa 0, Liverpool 6: Back to the Future
The love was palpable among Reds fans as they witnessed their beloved club absolute thrash Aston Villa 6-0, in a match that was enough to convince Jamie Carragher that Villa were the worst Premier League team ever.

Some headlines will obviously go to Daniel Sturridge, who scored within 15 minutes of his first Premier League start of the season.
In the end, Sturridge, James Milner, Emre Can, Divock Origi, Nathaniel Clyne and Kolo Toure (!!!) found the back of the net.
After the game, Sturridge took to Twitter to hail a great team win, Mamadou Sakho uploaded a photo of the squad while Jordan Henderson and Simon Mignolet also celebrated the three points on social media.
England striker Sturridge had not started in the league since October during an injury-plagued season which has included a hip problem, knee injury, foot issue and hamstring trouble. Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with how his side dispatched the hosts but he will be under no illusion they won’t face many sides as bad as Villa this season. We have to make the decision.
Aston Villa vs Liverpool Sunday at The Villa Park – This game will be overshadowed by both Arsenal v Leicester and Man City v Spurs, but it’s a must win affair for both. The first two goals were hard to digest and my team did not play anymore.
If we told you before the match that Liverpool would score six, first of all you’d stop us there.
Liverpool scored four goals in 13 minutes in the second half to complete a rout of Aston Villa at Villa Park.
“It didn’t help (psychologically) too much to be honest”, Sturridge said of his goal.
“Wayne Rooney, again, is still a fantastic player, but I wouldn’t have him as the nine, I think he needs to play behind the main striker as he doesn’t have the legs he used to have”.
Klopp had earlier claimed he would not get carried away with celebrating on the touchline given the impact such a result could have on the morale of Villa and his opposite number Remi Garde.
He said: “Brendan Rodgers could look back and say the injuries to Daniel Sturridge maybe cost him his job. Hopefully he’s available for the next game too”.

“Everything is better when you have your highest quality on the pitch so these two players are very, very important and they showed it today”.
