Astronauts start spacewalk at International Space Station
A pair of NASA astronauts plan to exit the International Space Station on Monday morning in an effort to secure a rail auto that is stuck in the wrong place.

The mobile transporter railcar carries the robotic arm from one location to another on the outside of the orbiting lab.
“I see motion!” Kelly said after the astronauts released the brake handles and a robotics officer in Mission Control sent a command to move the rail vehicle. The astronauts had to move the rail auto so a cargo ship carrying about 3,000 kg of supplies could dock on Wednesday.
NASA greenlit Monday’s spacewalk just three days ago – a stark contrast to how most Extravehicular Activities (EVAs) are planned months in advance.
On December 22, Fox Home Entertainment and NASA will transmit to the astronauts living on the world’s International Space Station, a special holiday gift containing directors Ridley Scott’s box office hit.
After quickly completing their primary objective for the spacewalk, Kelly and Kopra tackled several get-ahead tasks. Kelly and Kopra will also be taking care of a few other tasks during the spacewalk, time permitting.
Tim Peake mentioned the prospect of watching the anticipated movie before being ferried to the ISS while Kelly, a “Year in Space” participant, has been peppering his Twitter feed with Star Wars references.
“This is a team effort”, Kelly said.
Boeing has received its second task order from NASA to transport crews and their cargo to the International Space Station under the company’s potential $4.2 billion Commercial Crew Transportation Capability contract.

Kelly and Kornienko are in the midst of a yearlong space mission that will end in March. It will be the 191st spacewalk in support of station assembly and maintenance and the seventh spacewalk of the year by station crew members.
