The Astros top prospect will finally make his highly anticipated major league debut Monday night against the Yankees.

The New York Yankees look to sweep the Houston Astros Wednesday night.

Dellin Betances stranded the bases loaded with a big strikeout in the eighth, while Andrew Miller picked up his ninth save of the season, his second in two nights since Aroldis Chapman was traded to the Cubs.

A frustrated Gomez spiked his helmet and kicked at the ground after he was out at first base. We’ve had a lot of close games lately and they’ve been used a lot. To punctuate how anemic the position has been, Adam Everett was the Astros career home run leader at short, despite hitting only 35 home runs in six years.

Yankees starters continue to come up big since the All-Star break as Sabathia pushed aside a six-start skid in which he allowed four earned runs or more in each appearance.

“They’re not first basemen”, Hinch said.

“You’re not asking a young kid to maybe step into something that he’s never done before”, manager Joe Girardi said. “But I think that (long relief) role is important”.

Sabathia shook off the first-inning homer, retiring eight of the next 10 Astros without allowing a hit.

“I’ve been doing everything I can and trying not to get frustrated”, he said. “Fastballs to both sides. The only thing lacking were a few sliders to Romine”.

The First Baptist Church Nacogdoches were able to see highly anticipated prospect Alex Bregman make his debut in the Astros’ starting lineup at third base.

“After three or four steps, I felt something there”, Valbuena said.

Mark Teixeira doubled in the second inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Didi Gregorius to tie it at 1. Dickerson’s drive into the fifth deck extended San Diego’s team-record streak of games with at least one home run to 23. But he settled in after that, allowing only one single over the next five innings. However, Betances would get Jason Castro to strike out to end the inning, preserving a three-run lead.
