ASUS Launches GeForce GTX 1060 STRIX Graphics Card
One more day to go and PC builders and gamers alike will be getting their hands on NVIDIA’s latest offering of graphics processing unit (GPU), the NVIDIA GTX 1060, which is classified under the mid-ranged graphics cards category.

The GTX 1060 also appears to offer better efficiency compared to the RX 480, drawing less power while delivering more or equal performance. It’s packed with 1,280 CUDA cores, 6GB of GDDR5 memory, and a boost clock speed of 1.7GHz that can be overclocked to 2GHz.
NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1060 has launched today, and while finding a vehicle on store shelves may be a bit hard, there are plenty of reviews available to help you make an informed purchasing decision once they are in stock.
The GTX 1080 as well as AMD’s R9 Fury are also in direct competition with GTX 1060.
The GeForce GTX 1060 is the “budget” model in the latest round of cards from NVIDIA, with a 6GB model already confirmed.
The GeForce GTX 1060 has the largest leads over the Radeon RX 480 in the DirectX 11 tests, though the Radeon had a clear edge in OpenCL and managed to pull ahead in some DirectX 12 tests.
The GTX 1060 is on average, 10% faster than the RX 480, based on numerous reviews which compared the two cards.
Starting at just $249, the GTX 1060 is a significant step up from its predecessor, the 960, but not almost as powerful as the 1070 or 1080. Ars Technica points out that the GTX 1060 performs better at 2,560 x 1,440 than the GTX 980, leading by 7-percent in Metro Last Light and 14-percent in Hitman.

The first to get to my door was GIGABYTE’s surprisingly impressive GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming, and I’m going to walk you through why I think it’s the most surprising GeForce GTX 1080 yet. ASUS Turbo GeForce GTX 1060 comes with a dual ball-bearing fan that provides an up to 4X-longer card lifespan and a customizable backlit logo for system personalization. The pricing on the graphics cards is extremely competitive across the entire range, and Overclockers UK are giving free next day delivery to the UK Mainland across the whole range.
