Asus launches Zenfone Go smartphone at Rs 7999

In order to expand its business and reach to the customers of India, the smartphone company, Asus has launched its latest device – Go. The affordable smartphone is priced at Rs 7,999, and is available on Flipkart as well as Asus’ offline retail stores.

Asus has provided Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system on the Zenfone Go with its Zen UI on top.

We’ve seen ASUS India pushing the release of multiple ZenFone devices over the past month or so, with the ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone Deluxe etc breaking cover recently.

“The launch of ZenFone Go could help the company boost smartphone shipments and gain market share”, Shen said. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB RAM. The rear camera has a resolution of 8 MP Autofocus while the front shooter will capture 2 MP that deliver attractive, high-quality photos with a professional look.

Connectivity options of the Smartphone Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB, the handset doesn’t support 4G connectivity.

Asus ZenFone Go will be available with 8GB inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB).

By modern standards the phone is quite chubby at 9.98 mm and weighs 135 grams. The phone also packs in a full suite of sensors that include an compass, accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensor. Adding to it, it will bring 100 GB Google Drive storage space free for the next two years which will have to be redeemed by 1st April 2018.
