That is pretty much it. The ZenFone Max is now available for Rs. 9,999 ($150) in India through either Amazon India or Flipkart, so in case you’re interested, go fo it, the device was in stock during the writing of this article. The company also expressed plans to expand the offline presence of its devices in India. The company said that by end of 2015 it only had 100 stores. The main USP of the device is its huge 5000mAh battery which can deliver up to 914 hours of standby time and up to 38 hours of talk time, in addition to working as a power bank to other devices. The device looks like a smaller ZenFone Max, featuring volume buttons on the rear side, rather than on the back (like most of Asus’ recent ZenFone smartphones do).
The ZenFone Max features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display with Corning’s Gorilla Glas 4 on top of it. The phone also ships with 2GB of RAM on the inside, and 16GB of expandable internal storage. Asus is also providing a slot for memory expansion via MicroSD card (upto 64GB).
Even though the smartphone has a different name, it packs similar specs as the Zenfone Go. The front facing selfie snapper is further complimented by an 8MP f/2.0 rear unit which comes equipped with LED Flash.
However, customers will have other connectivity options at their disposal including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and Global Positioning System with AGPS support.
