The Taliban denied responsibility for the blast, which struck outside a civilian hospital in Kabul following a wave of fatal bombings earlier this month that rattled the city.
His absence has plunged the insurgency into a power struggle. In addition, Jalaluddin Haqqani, the leader of the hard-line Haqqani Network faction of the Taliban, recently has been reported to have died past year. “We are investigating who carried out the attack”, he quoted the group as saying.

The cause of the blast is not yet known, although in recent months Kabul has been targeted by the Taliban. Some analysts say the insurgents are trying to show they remain potent.
