At Least 12 Dead in Head-On Train Crash
On his Facebook page, Mazzilli posted photos of the mangled steel trains that collided Tuesday. “It’s a disaster”, he wrote.

“I think there are many dead”, Zingaro told a TV channel.
Dozens more have been injured.
Currently, there has been no reason as to why the trains collided in good weather conditions. Ferrotramviaria’s website said its fleet includes 21 electric trains, most with four cars each.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
Pictures from the scene in the Puglia region showed both trains were on the same track about 15 kilometers south of the Adriatic Sea, apparently headed toward each other.
“We hope he is alive”, she said.
The mayor of nearby Corato has described the scene as horrific.
The image of the crash site, being circulated on social media. “The rescuers are pulling people from the wreckage”, he added, as cited by La Repubblica. He appealed for blood donors to go to local hospitals, with at least 30 people hurt in the crash.
It seems that the two trains were on the same line and had been moving towards each other.
Ten people were killed in a head-on collision between two trains in the southern Italian region of Puglia on Tuesday, firefighters said. Rescue workers quickly worked to pull victims from the wreckage, but dozens were already injured from the impact.
The Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, has claimed, that they will keep on looking for an explanation regarding the incident.

The stretch of track is operated by a small, private rail company Ferrotramviaria. Firefighters were working to extract bodies and wounded passengers from the twisted metal of the first cars on each train.
