At least 26 dead in flash floods in western India
According to Ahmedabad collector Rajkumar Beniwal, three people died in Detroj town in the district after a house collapsed late last night due to heavy rains.

Many parts of Banaskantha district were cut off from the mainland and power supply was disrupted in many areas also.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed into service in the worst affected Banaskantha and Kutch districts.
Another four people died in Kutch district after several houses collapsed, while more than 1,000 people there have been relocated to higher ground, reported local official M S Patel. Heavy downpour since the last two days, triggered by deep depression over north Gujarat and Kutch regions, has thrown life out of gear and has so far claimed 22 lives in rain-related incidents.

Banaskantha became the worst hit district as relentless rain caused a flood-like situation, especially in towns bordering Rajasthan, the epicenter of deep depression that is bringing rainfall in Gujarat.
