At least 6 killed in charter bus accident on Arkansas interstate

A charter bus crashed in Arkansas early Friday, killing six people and sending many others to the hospital with injuries, authorities said. According to reports, more than 20 migrant workers were on the bus. Two have been discharged, and one was admitted in fair condition.

Sadler said the single-vehicle crash was reported to state troopers around 1 a.m. Friday.

NTSB spokesman Eric Weiss said the agency is conducting an investigation separate from the police investigation, and will look at safety issues related to the crash.

The names of the victims have not yet been released. Depend on us for updates as we get them. Eight survivors were taken to a nearby hotel.

“As you can imagine, they’re pretty shaken up”, she said. The station posted a photo showing a white bus with “Continental” in broad letters on the side being towed from the scene.

Jeff Lawson, who identified himself as the owner of Continental Charters in Detroit, said he sold a bus to a man on Saturday who “said he needed a second bus to haul people from [Detroit] to Texas… and Florida”. He said the buyer was supposed to remove the Continental lettering from the bus before operating it. It was a little confusing to change the lanes accordingly, one state that the respected driver could not keep up with his route lane and ran into the sideway.
