The circumstances and motive for the killings have not yet been established, police sources said.

The shooting took place on Tuesday at a Roma camp in France’s Roye commune, the prefecture reports.

But police sources told The Telegraph that the shooting is a criminal matter not linked to terrorism.

The U.K.’s Mirror and the French newspaper Le Courrier Picard reported that one of those killed was a child. Four people are severely injured, including another child and the gunman himself. France’s state prosecutor traveled immediately to the site of the shootout.
