At San Francisco Rally, Bernie Sanders Supporters Begin To See Different Future
The Associated Press reported late Monday night that Clinton secured the number of delegates needed to win the Democratic party’s nomination, making her the first female candidate to lead a major party ticket.

Bernie Sanders assured his outraged supporters that he intends to win Tuesday’s primary in California and beyond as Hillary Clinton secured the commitments of enough delegates to become the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.
Clinton’s win in the Puerto Rico primary – where 60 unpledged delegates were at stake – pushed her total, including hundreds of superdelegates, beyond 2,383.
Despite the AP count declaring her the presumptive nominee, the Clinton campaign said they are still looking ahead to the results of the June 7 contests, which include the states of California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Clinton reportedly reached the key number one day before Democratic primaries in six USA states, including California where she is campaigning heavily, and eight years after she came up short in her nomination battle against Barack Obama.
Bernie Sanders, has vowed that the race can not be counted at this point because he will contest the Democratic national convention and persuade Clinton’s superdelegates to support him. To hear Hillary Clinton tell it, she’s on the verge of beating Bernie Sanders in the Golden State and beyond, but the Vermont senator has told supporters that they’re gaining ground, and stand a strong chance of cinching the primaries.
She surpassed the threshold Monday after a number of super-delegates – current and former elected officials and political activists who are not bound to vote for a specific candidate – recently committed to back her candidacy, according to the AP.
A senior White House official would not comment on timing of any endorsement but said Obama is eager to campaign where he might be useful. This cycle, she’s gotten endorsements from state Democratic heavyweights, including former U.S. Sens.
During a rally in Los Angeles Monday night, Clinton said she was on the brink of a “historic, unprecedented moment”, while acknowledging there was still work to be done in six states voting Tuesday.
Last month, 41 percent of Sanders’ supporters said they would vote for Clinton if she runs against Trump in the general election.
However, a somewhat uncharacteristically cautious Sanders said, “Let’s assess where we are after tomorrow”.
Adams – despite admitting that he doesn’t vote or belong to a political party – has been obsessively blogging about the presidential race since previous year, and staked himself out as one of the earliest believers in Trump’s campaign.
MADDOW: I have to ask you about when you would consider it to be over because in 2008 Senator Sanders stayed out of the race, stayed out of the primary between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama until the very end. When superdelegates are counted, Clinton is within a hair of victory. “He wants to influence the platform”.
So how many superdelegates does Clinton have?
Of the four opponents who did take her on, Sanders was the only one who emerged to provide a serious challenge.
Pelosi said she believes Sanders will be a constructive force before the Democratic convention in Philadelphia.
And how much does she look past her long-sought achievement to get busy taking the fight to Donald Trump?
Both Clinton and Sanders spent Sunday in California, the biggest prize among the six states voting on Tuesday.
The brash real estate mogul and reality TV star has long since turned his attention from primary foes to Clinton, debuting a nickname – “Crooked Hillary” – and arguing she belongs in jail for her email setup.

Pelosi added: “I believe that she will walk into that Oval Office one of the best-prepared people to do so in our country’s history, however, it’s because she’s the best not because she’s a woman”.
