Rio’s head of security says he wants soldiers on the streets to help local police battle crime.

The Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, unveiled the designs of the tickets on Friday.
The state of Rio de Janeiro has cut about $550 million for its security budget – about 20 percent – and Beltrame has repeatedly said he would like to have more police.
“We can only release the tickets if we can guarantee the seats are going to be there”, he said.

It’s not clear if the increase is related to Brazil’s outbreak of the Zika virus.
Tourism officials estimate between 300,000-500,000 visitors will travel to Rio during the Olympics.
Around 450,000 condoms are being handed out to Olympic athletes during this year’s Rio games – three times the number distributed for London in 2012.
Also on Thursday, officials toured Rio’s renovated global airport.
Rocha said he focused his assets on renovating the airport before the Olympics open August 5.
The company also recommends having a separate bank account, and a card with a small amount of money on it, for online payments.

“Efforts are being made to solve this as soon as possible”, Rocha told reporters.
