Atlanta Falcons favorites over the Indianapolis Colts

Unfortunately for the Colts, Andrew Luck suffered an abdominal injury in the fourth quarter that will keep him out for two to six weeks.

Following their bye in Week 10, the Falcons will be back in action this Sunday when they host the Colts at 1:00PM ET.

“It could be worse, right?”

Should Indianapolis make the postseason, however, I would still think long and hard about bringing Luck back.

It should be close throughout, but Ryan and the Falcons do enough to send the Colts home with another disappointing loss and a number of questions moving forward. The OVER is 3-0 in the last three meetings between the Colts and the Falcons in Atlanta. The Colts will instead go with 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck.

With age, though, comes experience and perspective.

Everything is pointing toward a high-scoring affair, especially if Hasselbeck plays well and is capable of putting up big numbers through the air, but without Luck it is hard to imagine a shootout going in Indianapolis’ favor. Look for Hasselbeck to spread the ball around in the passing game and lean on running backs Frank Gore and Ahmad Bradshaw. The overriding objective for Hasselbeck is ball security. He’s played in different offenses for different people.

“Matt does a lot of things well”. The Falcons are two-fisted with their approach, and that undoubtedly has caused Greg Manusky more than a few sleepless nights. “He’s the best specimen of all (the top receivers)”, Davis said. He leads the league with 80 receptions and is second to Brown with 1,029 yards. Fantasy Tip: After struggling on offense past month, Falcons might look to get WR Roddy White more involved. His nine rushing TDs lead the league, as do his 48 rushing first downs. Hasselbeck’s hits When Luck is behind center, he tends to be the most hit quarterback in the NFL. He injured his left ankle during the November 8 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Coach Chuck Pagano didn’t say who would replace Adams in the lineup. They are going to be giving him more playing time due to rookie Henry Anderson’s injury. Backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck needs a reliable target to throw to over the next couple of weeks. The Colts have just 13 sacks.

While the Colts need to resist the urge to run Gore into the ground, that doesn’t mean he isn’t a vital part of the game against the Falcons. That’s Gore’s wheelhouse. He’s coming off a 28-carry game against Denver, and history tells us the more work gets, the better the end result. These veterans were signed for the stretch run of the season, and it is time for them to deliver.

“I think you just get used to the fact that that’s what it is and you embrace the change and embrace the challenge”, he said. During their four game winning streak to open the season, the Falcons hung at least 24 on their opponent in every game.
