Atlanta Falcons Fly to Big D for Date with Dallas

In what can only be explained as a desperate move after the Romo injury, the Cowboys signed quarterback Matt Cassel from the Bills.

That’s precisely the scenario today when Atlanta (2-0) heads to Texas. Weeden expressed that he knows it will be a challenge, but will try not to put any extra pressure on himself. I’m not sure you can.

The Falcons wide receiver underwent surgery in 2011 similar to Bryant’s and understands the importance of not rushing the rehab.

Ryan said he considers White, Jones and tight end Tony Gonzalez “the best players I’ve ever played with”. If this wasn’t enough, the running backs are still trying to find their groove.

Running back Joseph Randle, who is still seeking that elusive 100-yard game, is averaging just 3.4 yards per carry.

Again this week, the Cowboys running game will be the most important factor for a chance to win the game against the Falcons. Lance Dunbar has been the most reliable man for the Cowboys these past two games, short passes and dump off passes have been vital for moving the chains and opening up the offense.

Dallas is outscoring teams 24-18 this season.

Losing Romo for any stretch of time is tough and couple that with Bryant and that leaves the Cowboys without two of their biggest stars. That’s a big if to go along with Weeden under center. They wore down and were washed away by the end of the game.

Heading into this week’s matchup the Cowboys are faced with plenty of questions that remain unanswered, mostly surrounding the offensive side of the ball.

Eagles running backs Darren Sproles, DeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews combined for 14 catches and 111 yards.

The Cowboys will be going up against a Falcons offense that is fifth in total offense.

Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden can rip off the names easily, one after another.

Tevin Coleman is out for Sunday. And teams that figured to be contenders like Seahawks, Eagles, Colts, Ravens, Saints and Lions are all 0-2. His 276 receiving yards is second in the National Football League only to Steelers’ Antonio Brown (328). They started 0-2 this season for the 3rd straight season, but they have much more hope in 2015 due to the suddenly weak division.

With all of the negative things that happened with the receivers this week, we cannot forget about the solid play that each of the players that we previously mentioned had. Not because they fear Cowboys rushing attack, the goal for the Falcons is to see if Brandon Weeden can beat them. All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis had an interception and two fumble recoveries at Indianapolis and leads National Football League with three recovered fumbles. Why should this game be different? He will no doubt do the same thing for Weeden. He suffered a cracked rib last week against the New York Giants and could miss additional games. Also, the punt return team blocked a punt and Kyle Wilber returned it for a touchdown in the victory over the Eagles. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie scored the Giants’ first TD on a fumble return in Dallas. Romo led a pair of long touchdown drives that both ended with passes to TE Jason Witten, including the game-winner from 11 yards out with seven seconds left.
