Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles land Super Bowls
The last time the Super Bowl was in played in Atlanta, in 2000, the region was devastated by an ice storm that wreaked so much havoc on the week of Super festivities. It’s also a record-setting 11th Super Bowl following a $450 million stadium renovation.

“They had Super Bowls there regularly before there was no team, so with our new stadium and project, it will be unbelievable”, Rams owner Stan Kroenke said of an Los Angeles Super Bowl.
Inglewood Mayor James Butts told KTLA that the new stadium and the Super Bowl will draw more people to his city.
2017: Houston-NRG Stadium will host this season’s Super Bowl.
The stadium modernization will sport a new roof over the stands, protecting fans from the same weather conditions that affected Super Bowl XLIV.
“From the owners’ standpoint, they want to show that it’s worthwhile”. Then in 2010, Super Bowl XLIV was played in Miami in a contest that featured the Colts against the New Orleans Saints, a game the Saints won 31-17. “And we love it being in downtown Atlanta”. The second biggest market in the country and the entertainment capital of the world was no longer able to offer a stage for the biggest sports event in North America. So with the game returning to Miami in 2020, we could be seeing the Colts make a return to the Super Bowl.
Hall of Fame running Larry Csonka was an ambassador for the Miami bid.
Csonka said he was a “little nervous” at first talking to the owners, joking he probably should have hit something before walking into the room.
“The facts are indisputable”, Csonka said. In the blink of a eye we have a team, the No. 1 pick Quarterback Jared Goff from Cal and now the Super Bowl!
“I think the message it also sends to communities that are considering other National Football League stadiums, this is going to be important in terms of Super Bowls”. The most recent game was held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in 1993.

“The Rams are proud to be part of such a significant regional effort of teamwork, leadership and vision to bring the Super Bowl back to Southern California”, Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff said in a statement.
