Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles selected to host Super Bowls

The NFL also decided on host sites for Super Bowl LIII (2019) and LIV (2020) with Atlanta getting the nod for 2019 and South Florida for 2020. The Rams will play at the Los Angeles Memorial Stadium until a new stadium opens in Inglewood.

The host cities were announced after a vote at the annual National Football League owners meetings in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Los Angeles hosted the first Super Bowl in 1967 but has not staged the the game since the 1993 edition at the Pasadena Rose Bowl.

The game will be played at the Rams’ $1.86 billion stadium, which is scheduled to open in 2019 at the former site of Hollywood Park racetrack.

Atlanta has previously played host to two Super Bowls, Super Bowl XXVIII in 1994, and Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000.

“The Tampa Bay area has distinguished itself as a top Super Bowl host over the years”, Bucs co-chair Bryan Glazer said in a statement. “And we are only going to feel better when we’re playing in the game”.

2020 was awarded to South Florida and 2021 to Los Angeles.
