Atlantic City Officer Shot Outside Casino
Martell Chisholm, 19, of Millville, New Jersey, and Demetrius Cross, 28, of Bridgeton, N.J., each are charged with two counts of attempted murder, robbery and weapons offenses, Acting Atlantic City Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said late Saturday. The officer, who has not been named, as well as his partner, reportedly approached three suspicious men while in uniform in a marked vehicle.

One person died and a New Jersey police officer suffered serious injuries early Saturday during a shooting outside an Atlantic City casino. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two suspects, the Atlantic City police would like to hear from you. Police said on their Twitter account the 3 a.m. incident is an ongoing investigation.
Police are still looking for the two other gunmen who fled the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
Chisholm and Cross are charged with two counts of attempted murder of the two police officers, a crime of the first degree; three counts of robbery, a first degree crime; two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, 1st degree; two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful goal, second d degree; and two counts of conspiracy to commit possession of a firearm for an unlawful objective, a second degree crime.
Mayor Don Guardian said hundreds of officers responded to the scene. It said authorities are seeking the identities of these men.
In a statement Sunday, Guardian said, “I can not even begin to thank everyone who has offered their support to our police department over the past couple of days”.
“I am so proud of our police department and how our officers continue to serve the public with true professionalism and dedication”.
One was seriously wounded as he was shot getting out of his vehicle. “Now it’s time for us to pray for them”.
