Simeone made these statements after Atletico lost 1-2 against Bayern on Tuesday in Munich, but they qualified by the double value of the goals scored away from home after having won 1-0 in Madrid, reports Efe.

Bayern Munich eliminated in the Champions League semifinals.
Frenchman Antoine Griezmann netted on 54 minutes from a Torres layoff to cancel out Xabi Alonso’s first half opener and force Bayern to look for at least two more goals. Robert Lewandowski’s 39th goal of the season set up a frantic finale, but on a night that saw both sides miss a penalty, it was Atletico who booked a spot in their second final in three seasons.
Atletico was on its way to its first European Cup title until the final minutes of the final in Lisbon two years ago.
“We did everything we could, and I’m proud of my players”. We had a lot of experience of being in the semi-finals and we did a very professional job.
“You are disappointed when you dont play well”. “We have already beaten PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona and Bayern so we don’t care whoever is next”.
“But we’re very happy that we kept two clean sheets and nicked a goal to get into the final”. He said: “Not just this season but for three seasons in Champions League this team did it very well away, especially beating Roma away last season and Bayern Munich”.
Alonso finally got the hosts a deserved lead in the 31st minute, his low free kick clipping Atletico’s Jose Maria Gimenez to cancel out Atletico’s first-leg advantage. “The people can say what they want, but it was really an honor to work with these players”, he added.
The 26-year-old said: “To have another chance to win another trophy is awesome for us and hopefully we can take that opportunity”.
“We want to win the tournament”, said the 32-year-old Torres, who won the 2012 Champions League title while at Chelsea.
“The team isn’t to blame, we tried everything, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough”, said Lahm.
Pep Guardiola said he had given his life to Bayern Munich over the past three years and refused to accept the inability to deliver the Champions League meant he had failed in his mission at the German club. We’ll give everything. Trust us.
