Police attended the scene close to the NuBar in Loughton, popular with those who feature on The Only Way Is Essex. The bar tweeted that it was “not involved” in the “unfortunate incident”.
Two other men, aged 19 and 21, who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail until February 14 next year. The nightclub in question was NuBar, located in the Loughton area of the Essex county.
The Audi was found on Saturday morning having been set ablaze in Waltham Abbey.
Witness Ben Buisson arrived at the scene just moments after the attack and told the Mailonline that he saw the injured man holding the back of his neck.
One of the suspects – a 30-year-old man from Grays – was arrested after being chased by a PCSO on foot.
Buisson said he understood the men attacked the victim with knives, “choppers”, and possibly a crowbar.
“He was whining and coughing trying to catch his breath”.
He said he appeared to have been stabbed several times, adding that he had “never seen so much blood in his life”.
In a statement form the Police, the force revealed that this was probably not a random attack, and the man involved could have been targeted deliberately.
