“Mr. Peifer was called as a witness today”.

Kane is in a Montgomery County courtroom for her preliminary hearing.

Most of Bradbury’s testimony focused on sworn testimony that Kane gave to the grand jury investigating the leaked information. Henry asked.

Kathleen Kane, the first woman and the first Democrat to be elected Pennsylvania attorney general, did not speak as she left a suburban Philadelphia courthouse flanked by bodyguards and a crush of reporters and photographers.

Lead defense attorney Gerald Shargel attempted to raise the email pornography issue toward the end of Monday’s hearing, but Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Rebar did not allow it.

“There is an insufficient showing”, he said.

Kane was charged August. 6 with perjury, false swearing, obstructing the administration of justice, official oppression and conspiracy.

Kane, 49, did not comment on her way into or out of court. She credited them with “tremendous courage”.

In an alleged attempt to make Fina and other political rivals look bad, it is claimed that Kane then decided to leak some information of her own.

Kane has dismissed the probe as unfair backlash over her challenge to what she calls the old-boys’ network in state government. He testified he took a copy of a transcript of that interview to a meeting he had with Kane and several other people on March 25, 2014.

She wanted, it is alleged, to strike back against those she felt had set her up.

The detective said Kane was arguing that the memo was a summary of the evidence in the grand jury case, therefore it should not be considered grand jury information.

Forty-nine percent said Kane should resign.

Bradbury said investigators had not checked for fingerprints.

Bradbury also testified that he had interviewed Mondesire who told him that his charities were shut down and his reputation tarnished as a result of the leaked information.

Kane is accused of leaking secret grand jury information related to the case to the press.

“It is a secret process”, she said, according to the testimony. She’s also accused of ordering aides to illegally snoop through computer files. Bradbury testified that Kane lied to a 2014 grand jury to cover up the leak.

Kane’s goal, prosecutors say, was to discredit former agent Frank Fina, who led the probe and whom Kane saw as an enemy. “I’m going to go beyond what I said in court”, Shargel said. The allegation came out of left field, and the prosecutors objected to Shargel’s line of questioning.

“You’ve gone very far afield”. Twenty-seven percent said she should not.

Rebar upheld the prosecution’s objection.

“How can you tarnish a reputation that was already tarnished”, asked Shargel.

“You can’t destroy it a second time”, Shargel said.

Before and after the hearing, Kane and her security detail played a game of cat-and-mouse with the throng of media members gathered to photograph and videotape Kane’s arrival and departure from the courtroom by entering and exiting different doors at the courthouse in Norristown. She is scheduled to be arraigned October. 14. Kane remains free on $10,000 unsecured bail.
