Attorneys: Man killed by cop didn’t fire shots
Officer Raja then fired his weapon at Jones multiple times and killed him.

A spokesman for lawyers representing Corey Jones’ family says the state attorney’s office has told them Jones never fired a shot during a fatal confrontation with a Palm Beach Gardens police officer.
Raja, an adjunct professor at Palm Beach State College and certified to teach firearms training, has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation plays out.
“As the officer exited his vehicle, he was suddenly confronted by an armed subject”, Stepp said. The officer was not in uniform and was in an unmarked patrol vehicle.
Who is Officer Nouman Raja?
According to sun-sentinel.com. Corey Jones can be added to the list of African-American men killed by police.
Attorneys Daryl Parks and Benjamin Crump said Aronberg met with the family Thursday morning to try to answer questions about the confrontation. “Police agencies typically have well defined policies which require officers in plainclothes to follow certain protocols”. Community activists plan a rally Thursday outside the Palm Beach Gardens police headquarters.
“Times I didn’t want to laugh, I didn’t want to smile, my brother would… know what to say to me…” Wilfork tweeted after learning of Corey Jones’ death that he was “a good dude a standup guy” who was raised in the church. Jones’ family is demanding answers after he was fatally shot when his auto broke down on a dark interstate exit ramp in affluent Palm Beach Gardens early Sunday morning, October 18. Huntsberger was the last person to see Jones, he told Palm Beach Post.
“I have talked to the family members and the attorney of Mr. Jones and at their request, have made a decision to become involved in seeking the facts, and based upon the facts, justice in this case”.
Crump said that Jones called his brother, C.J., and told him the auto had broken down, and that he was waiting for help. I have nothing against them, but at the same time you’re dealing with somebody that was shot dead.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department has opened an independent investigation into Jones’ death, but police have released few details.
They also called for legislation that would put safeguards in place for future incidents, including body cameras for law-enforcement officers, dashboard cameras for police vehicles and automatic reviews of all police-related shootings. “I believe this bill will get a second set of eyes and hopefully restore the confidence of our community back with our police departments”.
And if someone emerges with a gun, “that’s a shoot situation”, said Kirkham, who has testified as an expert witness in police shooting cases. “That is why it is vital that law enforcement officers — including plainclothes officers — be equipped with body cameras so that when bad tragedies like this happen, we have a real window into what occurred”.
“My heart is with the Jones and Banks family”. One shot broke his arm and another entered through Jones’ side and lodged in his upper body, the attorneys said.
“It was a attractive thing for all of us to be together in harmony and joking”, Melissa Jones said.
Jones’ brother Clinton Jones Jr. said his brother would “not ever, ever, ever pull a gun on a policeman”.
Jones’ family described him as a responsible gun owner with the proper permits who armed himself to protect expensive drum equipment and cash payments from performances. “People took off their jobs, not getting paid, just to come out and support”.

Sylvester Banks Sr., the grandfather of Corey Jones, watched the news conference from their church in Boynton Beach. While there was frustration about the Jones shooting, the crowd largely kept positive with a mix of numerous church verses recited and songs.
