Auburn Tigers Rout Arkansas State Red Wolves 51-14
Luckily for the Tigers, Arkansas State isn’t in an altogether different boat heading into Saturday night’s game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The three-quarterback system on the Plains is no more.
“We will see where that goes”, Malzahn said Tuesday.
Backup quarterback John Franklin III even got in on the action coming in the game late in the fourth quarter for White.
Malzahn’s goal was to avoid the “nonsense” of last week, and the Tigers accomplished just that.
Pettway finished with a team-high rushing total as he and Kerryon Johnson became the first Auburn duo since Cameron Artis-Payne and wide receiver Ricardo Louis in a 42-35 win over SC in 2014, to total over 100 yards rushing in a game.
Kamryn Pettway led the offense with 152 yards on the ground on 15 carries. After losing a tough home game to the No. 2 team in the country in the Clemson Tigers on September 3rd, Auburn needed to take care of business against Arkansas State.
After struggling on offense in Week 1 against Clemson, Gus Malzahn rolled with Sean White for most of the game tonight and the Tigers’ offense responded.
After 30 minutes of play in its loss to No. 2 Clemson, Auburn had 38 yards, and the Tigers had several plays longer than that against Arkansas State Saturday night.
PLAYING SUN BELT: Auburn has a record of 23-0 against current teams in the Sun Belt Conference, including three wins over Arkansas State. Chad Voytik completed 11 of 24 passes for 124 yards. The Tigers were initially ruled down on the play, but after an official review it was ruled that the play was a fumble and Quanterio Heath had recovered the ball.
Arkansas State might have had its chance early Saturday night.
Ford was Auburn’s leading tackler with 10 stops while Williams added eight tackles and a sack. But Auburn’s most exciting play came on a simple toss out to the half back. He then leapt over a defender near the goal line and dove into the end zone for Auburn’s first score of the game. Will the run game remain once the guys step up to face Texas A&M? White threw the ball into double coverage, but Davis, a former five-star prospect, managed to get a grip on the ball and came down with it for his second big catch of the year. One can not underestimate the importance of running the ball so effectively, as Malzahn’s “O” is based on the run (see the Tigers leading the SEC in rushing during the Malzahn glory years at over 300 yards per game). Daniel Carlson also scored from 20 yards on a fake field goal and then connected on an 18-yard field goal as time expired to end the half.
Tyler Stovall just flipped the ball up to Carlson, who plucked it out of the air and ran untouched up the visiting sidelines for his first career touchdown.

Pettway, a ideal north-south stylistic compliment to Johnson, got his first career carries after being on the field last weekend for just three snaps.
