Audi A5 and S5 Coupe
That’s a way longer lifespan than most automakers set for a specific generation of model, especially the Germans, who like to change things faster than a woman during her “time of the month” changing her mind.

As a natural accompaniment to the newly unveiled A5 coupe range, the more performance-focussed 2017 Audi S5 coupe has made its global debut in Ingolstadt overnight.
We’re most interested in the S5, though, with its turbocharged 260 kW (354 hp) 3.0-liter V6 punching out 15 kW (21 hp) more than the last version could manage.
Like other Audi’s the A5 Coupé will get the cost-optional Audi virtual cockpit, a 12.3-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1440 x 540 pixels.
Head on over to Facebook to check out the live stream, or watch it embedded in this post after the jump.
Here, we get a view of the new A5 Coupe’s profile in its entirety, albeit wearing a swirly wrap, and positioned in front of a similarly coloured background. The A5 Coupe has brand new underpinnings which has resulted is a weight loss of 60kg by making use of lightweight materials and an aerodynamic design.
Like the S4, the S5 gets Audi’s all-new 3-litre TFSI V6. Audi also offers a 3.0-litre V6 TDI unit with either 215hp or 268hp. The Audi S5 Coupe sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 4.7 seconds.
The front end’s most striking feature is the quartet of sharply defined lines on the raised bonnet, separating it from the flatter and more conservative engine lid of the new S4 sedan on which the S5 coupe is based.
Helping on this front are the A5’s significantly improved torsional rigidity, what Audi claims is a class-leading drag coefficient, and redesigned suspension offering more comfort, but with the option of damper control that “switches its focus at the push of a button from comfort to sporty dynamics”. Instead the new coupes come with an even more integrated design, with the basic design language on full display. The A5 is fitted with electromechanical power steering or optionally with dynamic steering. The boot space too has grown in size, with a capacity of 465 litres as compared to 455 litres on the earlier model. The MMI is controlled by a round touch sensitive rotary pushbutton.
High-tech optional extras include a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, wireless smartphone charging and connect safety and service package, which can make emergency calls, search online for roadside assist as well as unlock the auto and check the vehicle’s status. The new A5 Coupe also gets a host of driver assistance systems such as the predictive efficiency assistant, park assist, cross traffic assist, collision avoidance assist and so on and so forth.

United Kingdom engine options haven’t been confirmed, but in Europe the A5 will launch with two TFSI petrols and three TDI diesels, putting between 188bhp and 282bhp to the road while drinking up to 22 per cent less fuel.
