You can find out more details on the new Audi Q2 at the link below, there are no details on pricing as yet, it will launch in Europe in the autumn. It is an option on the 1.4 TFSI COD and the 2.0 TDI with 150 hp. The range starts with a 1.0-litre TFSI three-cylinder petrol engine and moves up to include 1.4- and 2.0-litre TFSI four-cylinder petrol engines and three four-cylinder TDI diesel engines with 1.6- and 2.0-litre displacements.

The Q2 will be built at Audi’s main plant in Ingolstadt with European sales beginning in mid-2016.

In what looks like a candid leaked image, the Audi Q2 appears blurred out but most of its outline can be made out. The infotainment system can be operated by a rotary/push-button control and two buttons on the centre tunnel. It’s expected to become one of Audi’s most popular models on local shores.

Diesels kick off with a 1.6-litre TDI with 114bhp, joined by a 2.0-litre in two states of tune: 148bhp and 187bhp. The dashboard layout is similar to the other latest Audi models.

At the transmission end of things, the Audi Q2 gets a six-speed manual transmission and the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. In the 2.0 TFSI, a newly developed dual-clutch transmission is used which has a new type of oil supply and reduced friction.

Audi is fitting the Q2 with variable steering as standard, which adjusts the responsiveness of steering to cater for different situations. This gearbox is fitted to the range-topping 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines as standard.

Finally, adaptive dampers are available as an option along with the Audi drive select system, which allows drivers to tailor the car’s ride and setup to suit their driving conditions. Besides a larger multimedia screen, the MMI navigation plus delivers an integrated wifi hotspot, a free Audi Connect application for smartphones and free media streaming. The driver’s assist and safety list continues with daptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, traffic jam assist, lane-departure warning system, lane-keeping assistant, traffic sign recognition and parking and cross-traffic rear assist. Seat upholstery includes Nappa leather and LED light strips are also available for the front instrument panel and the knee pads.

Audi notes the Q2 as having high (and thus easy to access) entry points, and large luggage capacity despite the compact dimensions – 405 litres with the second row in use, 1050 litres with that row folded down.
