Audi to reveal concept of first large electric production vehicle at Frankfurt
Audi promises the e-tron quattro concept will inaugurate the design language that will influence all of the battery-powered models that it will launch in the coming years.

Audi has published a gallery of teaser sketches that preview the all-electric e-tron quattro concept.
The concept is based on the second generation Major League Baseball platform and you since we already told you that what you’re looking at is the Q6, it will be slotted between the Q5 and Q7.
It has movable aerodynamic parts at the front, on the sides and at the rear improve the air flow around the auto.
Partly thanks to a completely closed, flat under-tray beneath the body, the concept SUV has an amazingly low drag coefficient of 0.25. According to the company, the large lithium-ion battery has been installed between the front and rear axles, below the passenger area, and this has enabled a lower center of gravity and also a more balanced weight distribution. The interior of the model will have room for four people and no physical buttons and knobs will be seen here as these have been replaced by touch-operated displays. And that gives the auto better driving dynamics and driving safety than other vehicles in the segment.
It comes in tandem with news that, following the Volkswagen Group’s controversial changes in boardroom personnel, the electric R8 e-tron project has been resurrected and will now be put into production after all. Three electric motors – one at the front axle, two at the rear – will offer fully electric four-wheel drive.

In terms of design, the e-tron quattro is much as expected (although no doubt exaggerated in this render) with a small greenhouse, sloping roofline and a stance that seems somewhere between the Q7 and the A6 Allroad, complete with butch plastic cladding to make it look more purposeful.
