Aunt, grandmother face charges after leaving baby in hot car
Two women were arrested after a baby was rescued from a hot auto in a Bensalem parking lot, according to media reports.

Police were called to the parking lot of the Target store on Rockhill Drive around 3:55 p.m. for a report of an infant left in a vehicle. The child spent about 15 minutes inside the vehicle, investigators said.
Authorities say an off-duty Philadelphia police officer spotted the baby Sunday afternoon in Bensalem and managed to pry the door open.
Just before 4 p.m., when the temperature outside hit 97 degrees, the officer pried open a auto door to rescue the baby.
The baby’s grandmother, Patricia Diaz, and the baby’s aunt, Katia Hernandez, were both arrested and taken into custody. “Bensalem police arrived and the officer was tending to the child”, said Director of Public Safety Fred Harran.
Bensalem Police don’t believe the child was in the vehicle too long before being discovered by a passerby.
The child’s mother was reportedly called to the scene and accompanied her baby to a local hospital.

Both women have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and are being held in Bucks County Jail after failing to post bail.
