Crick, a 43-year-old businessman said to be working here, had reportedly sought local police’s aid and voiced concern over the safety of his son.

The actress who separated from the child’s father, Ashley Crick had visited Malaysia with her son earlier when the couple were still on good terms but the situation soon deteriorated and Snozert was forced out of the child’s father’s home without her son and her passport.

She was allegedly forced to leave their shared accommodation without their son or passport following a dispute.

Szonert, 41, reportedly went to a police station here yesterday afternoon together with her lawyer for questioning over her snatched son, but was detained the same day.

Col Chapman, spokesman of the Child Recovery Australia firm that enabled Szonert to snatch the son, said his client has asked the Australian High Commission to help secure her release.

It is learnt that Szonert had refused to reveal where the boy is being kept.

“The entire matter has escalated because of the complaint from Crick”, he said.

In a war of words, the Daily Mail Australia subsequently alleged the actress flew to Thailand where she spent eight weeks in a “drug addiction” rehabilitation clinic before arriving back in Malaysia where the row with her former de facto spiralled out of control.
