Austin Davis to start for Browns
Josh McCown, who started earlier this week against Baltimore, is out for the rest of the season with a broken collarbone.

Josh McCown is now done for the year after breaking his collarbone on Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens.
Pettine says Davis “took advantage of his opportunity on Monday night”.
Pettine said he will consult with others, but made it clear that the decision on who will start at quarterback on Sunday against the Bengals will be his alone.
Austin Davis replaced him and tied the game, 27-27, on a 42-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Travis Benjamin with 1:47 to play. McCown finished his first year with the Browns completing 186 of 292 passes for 2,109 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Pryor can also play quarterback, which could give the Browns some insurance with McCown out for the season.
Regardless of who he was in St. Louis, Austin Davis could prove to be a much tougher opponent for Cincinnati than Manziel, as there is less tape on Davis from 2015 and uncertainty of how Cleveland will construct its offensive scheme against the Bengals. Davis produced strong numbers against the Ravens in relief for McCown, but fantasy owners should be hesitant about starting any Browns players this weekend.
“I talked to the quarterbacks this morning and I said just kind of given where we are, what our circumstances are, that it’s safe to say now that this is a weekly thing”, Pettine said Wednesday during a news conference.
Though Davis is just 26, and even drew some comparisons to a young Brett Favre, he was not billed as “the answer” to an endless timeline of quarterback woes in Cleveland.
“I credit Austin for coming in, ” he said.
Already without the services of starting quarterback Sam Bradford because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee suffered in a preseason game against the Browns last August, the Rams started Shaun Hill under center.

Quarterback Andy Dalton led Cincinnati with an nearly flawless performance, 20-of-27 for 233 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, and zero sacks for a 93.6 QBR and 121.4 passing rating. “I can’t imagine too many game-ending scenarios that would make you feel worse at the end than that”.
