The president of Right to Life Australia said Newman had suffered a “gross denial” of his human rights.

According to the pro-life group Operation Rescue, which Newman heads, the Australian government is relying on false allegations that Newman supports killing abortion practitioners as its reason for now allowing him entry.

Labor MP Terri Butler said she was pleased the government had heeded her concerns.

Butler, who called for Newman to be kept out of Australia, pointed to a 2003 book, Their Blood Cries Out, co-authored by Newman that called for executing abortion providers.

But in a statement, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton confirmed Mr Newman’s visa had been cancelled.

Mr Newman, who hails from the United States, has written several books decrying abortion and labels women who have them “murderers”. “Mr. Newman’s presence in Australia risks inciting intimidation and violence against vulnerable women”.

“Mr Newman can appeal for a revocation of this decision and no further comment will be made during this appeal period”, Mr Dutton said.

“I am most troubled that is actually Mr Newman’s need abortionists to actually be completed may lead in to hazards or maybe profit of activities of fieriness against females and health care professionals”.

The move comes after the public was alerted to Newman’s upcoming speaking tour of Australia – and his record of anti-choice extremism – following the ban on rapper Chris Brown earlier this week.

Troy Newman responded to the decision on Facebook, saying his visa was revoked mid-flight and he was “pulled off a plane in Denver and told I could not travel to Los Angeles” and then on to Melbourne, where he was due to speak on Friday night.

Newman has booked another ticket on a different airline and will travel on to Los Angeles tonight with the hope that this misunderstanding can be sorted out in time for him to catch his original flight to Melbourne.

“Please pray for me, I’m stuck in Denver airport like a man without a country”, he said.

Newman had been scheduled to speak at a “save the babies down under” event promoted by Right to Life Australia before a member of parliament raised character questions about the militant activist, reported The Guardian.

“It is clear that the pro-abortion crowd does not want anyone to hear the truth about Planned Parenthood’s illegal actions”.
