Australia Olympic champion Brennan fumes over hacker leaks
There is no evidence of any wrongdoing by the sportspeople involved, with the hackers having disclosed instances where TUEs have been granted, enabling competitors to use medications for legitimate reasons.

The documents, which were held by the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada), were the third batch of records to be leaked by the hackers this week.
The hacking group released information on sports stars including US Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, a four-time gold medallist in the Rio Games, and tennis champions Venus and Serena Williams. The agency is also in contact with the relevant NADOs and IFs whose athletes are impacted by this latest data release so that they can provide them with the necessary support.
“That is a huge security concern and something that I think we should be seriously anxious about”.
“With this in mind, stakeholders should know that WADA is being consulted and taking action based on intelligence and advice from the very highest levels of global law enforcement; along with, top cyber security experts to ensure that the broader ADAMS remains secure”.
“To suggest this is a form of doping is absolutely outrageous, and I think the fact that it’s being allowed to proceed, and athletes such as myself have to get up here and justify a life-saving medical treatment, is seriously disappointing”, she said. “But there should be some public trust for this system, and in athletics it is particularly robust”. “We log everything with Wada and, when a TUE is appropriate, they can come back and ask us for more information”.
WADA has reacted to latest release of medical files by declaring “we must be prepared for more” and is taking guidance from “top cyber security experts” to ensure their system remains secure.
Born a month premature with a collapsed lung, Trott suffered protracted chest infections from an early age and was diagnosed with asthma at the age of six.
“We take this opportunity to clarify misinformation that is circulating in the media related to the goal of TUEs”.
The leaks by the hackers who are thought to be Russia-based show that the 24-year-old had TUEs for salmeterol and salbutamol – both commonly used in an inhaler – that expired on July 31, 2013.
TUEs can be issued to athletes who need to use medication on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (Wada) prohibited list.
Kim Brennan, an Australian Olympic champion rower, has spoken of her deep disappointment that her integrity as a clean athlete has been called into question over a shot of adrenaline administered in a medical emergency.
O’Connor, who won Olympic silver in the 200m individual medley in Rio last month, has been granted use of prednisolone for five successive years, most recently in June.
“It’s unhelpful in the present situation as our information indicates that the hackers have connections with Russian Federation”, said Reedie.
After earlier leaks that included the data relating to the Tour de France winners Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome, it leaves up to 44 other British athletes who have current or historic TUEs waiting to see if their information will also be leaked.
