Australian Shepherd Lost In Yellowstone National Park For 42 Days After vehicle
After 42 days, their efforts were rewarded: Jade, a 17-month-old Australian shepherd, was found safe on Friday near the very place she had originally been reported missing.

Over the last several weeks, there were reports of Jade being seen roaming the park. Sowers and his girlfriend had returned to Yellowstone a number of occasions to search for the canine earlier than discovering her Friday.
Of course, Jade instantly recognized her family and ran full speed to them!
Dave Sowers’ head-on vehicle collision while on vacation in Yellowstone was traumatic enough: He was airlifted and broke his arm, leg, and ribs. “I’ve been telling people it’s like the movie ‘Groundhog Day.’ I feel like my life’s been on hold for 42 days while I’ve been looking for my lost dog”. She just came running to me.
Sowers said other than a small cut on her lip and losing weight, Jade is OK.
As the family sat in the grass outside of the Terrace Grill in Mammoth on Friday afternoon, only a few hours after Jade’s triumphant return, dozens of people flocked to Jade to pet the Miracle Dog herself. Traps with dog food were even set. “They told me not to be doing this, but I wanted to find my dog”.
Jade, though “skin and bones”, is healthy and happy. “Now my life’s finally back to normal again”, said Sowers to the regional news outlet Missoulian.

Jade made her way to Sowers, who stood leaning against a white wooden fence, sporting a shirt that said, “Only the strong survive Yellowstone”. “You and I are going to stick together”, Sowers said.
