The head of the International Olympic Committee on Wednesday played down problems with unfinished accommodation at the Olympics Village in Rio de Janeiro, saying he expected Brazil would host a “fantastic” games.

The 2016 Summer Olympics, the first Games held in South America, will be held from August 5 to August 21.
Team GB have called up a plumber to stay with them at the Olympic Village amid fears over the condition of their accommodation.
The situation grew so bad that the Australian and Swiss delegations moved athletes out of the Olympic Village and into nearby hotels.
Of course, just a few days before the Games start there are always a number of issues to be solved. “The Brazilians will solve it”, Bach told reporters.
The Central Bank of Brazil expects that the delegations and tourists in Rio for the 2016 Olympic Games will leave behind revenue worth around 200 million USA dollars.

Director of communications at the British Olympic Association Scott Field said: “We have 67 British athletes in the village and their experience so far has been wholly positive”.
Australia’s delegation had taken issue with the poor state of the village, the 31-building complex located in the Barra da Tijuca district in the west of Rio de Janeiro created to house more than 18,000 athletes and coaching staff over the coming weeks.
In a gesture of goodwill, Paes presented the head of the Australian delegation, Kitty Chiller, with the keys to the city of Rio on Wednesday and thanked her for her understanding.

The Rio Paralympic Games will be held between September 7 and September 18. “I’m very pleased to announce that as a result of that we will have those athletes arriving today moving into the village tonight”. “We will have a great Olympic atmosphere a la Brazil here in Rio”.
