Authorities searched Wednesday for two men believed responsible for the shooting death of a year-old girl in Compton during a suspected gang attack.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were sent around 7 p.m. Tuesday to a home located in the 300 block of North Holly Avenue for report of a gunshot victim.
One witness, who declined to give her full name, described hearing several gunshots followed by a woman screaming: “They shot my baby”. Kusch also said investigators were exploring the possibility the shooting was part of an ongoing gang dispute.
The baby died later at the hospital, according to the LASD. The child was pronounced dead in hospital.
“I heard the shots maybe 10-12 shots”, the Rev. Maurice Johnson, Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship Church, said.
