The NYPD said the shooting occurred after a person using a remote home surveillance device called 911 to report seeing a burglar inside a home. The officer shot the man in the groin.
The man, 38 years old, was taken to Elmurst Hospital Center in stable condition, authorities said. According to PIX11, one woman was shot in the head. Surgeons at a hospital discovered a small wire cable in her scalp. We’ll update if and when the department provides us with some clarity.
