Another described clowns shining green laser lights in the woods, and one more saw a figure with a blinking nose standing under a streetlight.

The police in Greenville, South Carolina, are SO done messing around with that creepy clown being spotted at apartment complexes all over the county!
“But to this day”, Flood said, “nothing has been substantiated with any kind of evidence or video surveillance”.
Clowns have been surfaced in the woods of SC causing mischief and luring children.
Police weren’t able to find the clown.
Most of the clown sightings are coming from an apartment complex, where children told an officer they had been seeing the clowns behind the apartment building trying to entice them by showing large amounts of money, according to a GCSO incident report via ABC News.
The following evening, a 12-year-old told deputies that he had seen two clowns in his backyard at nearby Shemwood Apartments.
In the meantime, police are urging parents to keep an eye on their children and not allow them to leave home unsupervised. “One promise of candy and he would be gone”, she said. A woman took a photo of one of the creepy clowns on her phone, but it was almost dark outside and officers could not make out any features that could help their ongoing investigation.
In the most recent incident, on Tuesday night, Greenville city police responded a clown sighting near an apartment complex, where a witness said the clown left in a vehicle, before police arrived, reports CBS affiliate WSPA.
“If you think about all the kids who are getting, you know their idea of what a clown should be, or what a clown is is something scary or creepy, and that’s not what it is”, Fisher said.
The Sheriff’s Office in the area received another call from a young girl on Monday, August 29, about a clown sighting near Emerald Commons on White Horse Road. “It’s illegal, it’s unsafe, it’s inappropriate, it’s creating community concern”.
In response, police have announced their intentions to increase patrols in the area in addition to launching an investigation.
Police say the photo was too dark to make out an image.
“At this time, these are isolated incidents that have not been confirmed”, said Flood.
“We plan to publicly ask whoever is behind this senseless action of scaring child to stop before someone gets hurt”, Wilson said, according to CNN.

The department also received two calls to another apartment complex on Thursday, but says that those may have been a hoax as they were sent to a building number that does not exist, and then a second call came from another location in the complex.
