One person was in the vehicle; they’re in the custody of the Capitol Police. USCP and the D.C. Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after.
According to a law enforcement source, the individual rammed the barricade at high speed and appeared “imbalanced” but there is now no indication that this person posed broader security threat.
The auto, a maroon Nissan Altima with Florida plates is being searched by Capitol Police.
The driver, who is the only occupant of the vehicle, is in custody.
