“That’s awfully cruel to monetize that moment”, tweeted one fan.

Steiner Sports has ruined everything by offering this for sale on its website – yep, an autographed photo of a crying Flores in the Mets’ dugout.

Steiner Sports, the company that had the shortstop sign the photos at a signing this month, said Friday that all of the 8-by-10-inch signed photos ($70) and the 16-by-20s ($90) have been purchased. If that trade had gone through, and Met fans had realized what they would have missed out on, we would all have been crying.

Remember that insane , emotional, and ultimately stupid trade saga that played out awhile back when Wilmer Flores- who’d been with the Mets since signing as a 16-year-old in 2007- broke down into tears when he thought he was being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers?

After displaying his love for the Mets in such heart-wrenching fashion, Flores was embraced by fans. When the game was over, the Mets announced the trade didn’t happen because the team was concerned over Gomez’s health. 294 with one homer, 5 RBI and 8 runs in 51 at bats, and that does not include his walkoff homer in July in his first game after the trade that wasn’t.
