Autopsied Babies Puzzle Authorities In Philadelphia

Passersby spotted the deceased baby boy and girl in a patch of grass near a used-car dealership on Sunday and alerted police, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement.

The babies were first discovered by a 9-year-old near Mutter Street and Montgomery Avenue Saturday night. One boy said he thought the bodies were dolls. The medical examiner believes an autopsy was actually performed on the infants before they were left in the lot, but police are not sure who did it, or how the babiess got there. Moreover, the bodies were blue and had deep lacerations on their stomach and heads, according to the father.

A medical examiner concluded that the dead newborns’ bodies had undergone autopsies prior to their discovery. “It’s tragic. I mean babies don’t deserve that”, said Jackson.

“We don’t know where they came from or how they came to be disposed at that location”, Moran said.

“You shouldn’t throw little kids away”, he said. Both appeared to be a day or so old. “But I know that it’s sad that these babies weren’t properly put to rest”. “One was big, one was small”, Jackson said. An exact age of the infants hasn’t been released.

Investigators were seen entering and exiting the building several times on Sunday.

Investigators also informed that both the infants contained cuts on them while one had a clamp attached to the umbilical cord.

As Philadelphia Inquirer reports, two young children in Kensington discovered the bodies while playing near the deserted area.

However, the mystery lingers as to why the two bodies were left on the Philadelphia street. However, if the vehicle had any connection to the dead babies remains unclear. “Infants”, said Lt. Juan Perez.
